Developer and manufacturer of fully compliant and wireless fire detection and alarm systems Cygnus has officially opened the new Cygnus Academy – an in-person, high specification training hub for installers seeking to learn about the company’s new SmartNet wireless fire detection and alarm system.

Located at the company’s headquarters in Hereford, the Cygnus Academy provides a modern, fully equipped and comfortable environment where installers can complete the SmartNet one-day training course to become a Cygnus Certified Partner.

The SmartNet course, combining both theoretical and practical training, provides detailed insights into the ground-breaking SmartNet technology and the skills required to carry out a successful installation. Areas covered in the first part of the course include an overview of SmartNet wireless technology, site and system configuration and SmartNet installation.

The second part focusses on setting up the mobile app as well as diagnostics and fault finding. It will give installers an in-depth overview of Cygnus and SmartNet and allow them to design and fit a system correctly whilst offering the best services to their clients.
