Gerd Hülsen takes over as Vice-Chair

Euralarm, a leading association representing the electronic fire and security industry, has announced a significant change in its leadership.

Gerd Hülsen has been elected as the new Vice-Chair of the Extinguishing Section, succeeding Torbjørn Laursen.

Recognising the contributions of the predecessors

Alan Elder, Chair of the Extinguishing Section, expressed his gratitude towards the former Vice-Chair, Torbjørn Laursen, for his dedicated service.

Elder remarked: “I’d like to thank Torbjørn for his efforts as the previous Vice-Chair.

“I am sure that Gerd will be given the support that our delegates have always given Torbjørn and I to help us to move the Extinguishing Section to the next level.”

The new vision for Euralarm

Gerd Hülsen, representing Euralarm member Siemens, shared his vision for the role and the industry.

He stated: “Fire safety and the protection of life and assets are topics that are central to the work of our section.

“Protection methods continually improve; and regulations are constantly changing amplifying the need for monitoring and guidance to affected stakeholders.

“It requires international cooperation bringing the best in our field together to contribute not only to safety but also to the future of European industry.

“That is exactly what Euralarm has to offer. I am proud to be part of that team.”
