Rockwool A/S has announced that Jens Birgersson will remain as CEO of until Jes Munk Hansen, currently CEO of Terma, takes over the role by 1 September 2024 at the latest.

This marks a significant transition in leadership for the global leader in stone wool production, with Birgersson having driven notable business growth and operational success during his tenure.

Thomas Kähler, Chairman of the Board, praised Jens Birgersson for his impactful leadership over the past nine years.

Under Birgersson’s guidance, Rockwool experienced a marked increase in sales and achieved historically high EBIT margins.

Kähler thanked Birgersson for his strong leadership, which has positioned Rockwool on a solid foundation for continued development.

Jes Munk Hansen’s background and vision

Jes Munk Hansen brings over 20 years of experience in the building materials industry, with a focus on energy efficiency and sustainability.

His extensive international management experience includes significant roles in the United States, leading Grundfos’ North American operations for five years, and holding leadership positions at OSRAM and LEDVANCE.

Currently serving as Vice-Chairman of Dansk Industri and a board member at WSAudiology, Hansen has also been a part of Rockwool’s board over the past year.

Hansen shared his enthusiasm for leading Rockwool, emphasizing the importance of balancing energy efficiency, sustainability, and business outcomes.

He said he forward to working closely with the leadership team, employees, customers, and partners, aiming to contribute to Rockwool’s global leadership and its commitment to sustainability.
