The Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) is set to conduct a fire safety seminar on Wednesday 13th September 2023.

Taking place at the Aviva Building in London, this seminar promises to provide comprehensive insights into the recent Building Safety Act.

The day is scheduled to kick off at 9.15am.

ASFP Managing Director Mike Ward, along with Aviva’s Allister Smith, will greet the attendees.

They’ll particularly spotlight requirements at Gateway 2 and 3, nuances of product testing, the Golden Thread, and the importance of supplying digital data.

Fire safety seminar: noteworthy speakers and discussions

During the morning segment, Andrew Moore from the Health and Safety Executive is set to discuss the specifics of Gateway 2.

Wayne Timperley of the Chartered Association of Building Engineers and Local Authority Building Control will shed light on the responsibilities linked to Gateway 3.

Niall Rowan from ASFP and Chandru Dissanayeke from the Department for Levelling Up Communities and Housing will present views and updates related to the Building Safety Act and the Morell report.

Post lunch, the afternoon will see Aman Sharma from Totus Digital and Andrew Taylor from ASFP discussing the concept of the Golden Thread.

Kate Milford is slated to introduce the newest phase of the ASFP’s Competency Pathway, designed to define clear pathways for ASFP members to establish competence.

The seminar will draw to a close at 3.45pm after a Q&A session and the unveiling of the new ASFP Quality Mark by Tariq Malik.
