Intersec Awards 2024: The Winners List in Full

Dubai hosts a global fire and emergency services event

Intersec 2024, currently underway from 16 to 18 January at the Dubai World Trade Centre, is marked as an essential gathering for global leaders in fire and emergency services.

The event, which features 400 exhibitors from the Fire & Rescue sector, is recognised as the world’s most extensive industry assembly of its kind.

Innovations in fire safety and emergency response

The exhibition’s Fire & Safety segment, hosted by Dubai Civil Defence, includes both local and international exhibitors.

This year’s show is notable for its display of the latest firefighting technologies, industry best practices, and for fostering international expert connections.

The Fire & Rescue section spans five halls and is distinguished as the exhibition’s fastest-growing sector.

The showcased products include fire prevention and protection, firefighting equipment, emergency alarm and warning systems, and rescue equipment.

Conference highlights cutting-edge technologies

A highlight of the event is the dedicated Fire & Rescue Conference.

Saeed Alshaiba, Information Security Officer of Dubai Civil Defence, shared insights at the opening session: “In August 2021, we introduced Dubai Civil Defence Readiness, an application that combines several systems into one.

Crucially, this application enables us to predict fires using Artificial Intelligence (AI), helping us to be prepared for any incident.”

The Dubai Civil Defence Readiness program is a significant part of the UAE’s strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 40% by 2030, positioning the country at the forefront of firefighting and environmental sustainability.

Leading exhibitors showcase advanced technologies

Among the key exhibitors, Hochiki Middle East FZE is presenting advanced fire detection systems, alarm devices, and control panels.

Shahab Anjum, Head of Sales at Hochiki Middle East, commented on the evolving landscape: “The pandemic accelerated the adoption of remote monitoring and management technologies.

AI advanced sensor technologies improve detection accuracy and reliability while reducing false alarms.”

NAFFCO, another prominent exhibitor, is displaying a comprehensive portfolio of fire trucks, detection technology, alarms, and extinguishing systems.

Safety and health in focus

The event also emphasised the importance of personal protective equipment (PPE), with the latest safety wear and equipment collections presented during the Safety Walk.

Continued discussions and international collaboration

The conference will proceed with sessions on ‘The Future of Fire Safety in Smart Buildings’ and ‘International Collaboration in Fire Safety’, featuring industry experts from the UK, Europe, and the GCC.

A milestone event in security technology

This 25th edition of Intersec spans five broad product sections and hosts 1,000 exhibitors from over 60 nations, attracting more than 45,000 visitors globally.
