Fire safety specialist, Trail Group, has announced the appointment of two new directors to its leadership team to support its strategic goals.

Jon Crosby has taken up the role of Managing Director, having previously served as the Commercial Director since 2023.

His responsibilities will include leading the company’s strategic development and financial reporting over the next five years.

James Haigh has been promoted from Business Change Manager to Group Strategy Director, a position in which he will oversee the integration of processes and performance measures across all company subsidiaries.

Jon Crosby’s role and experience

Jon Crosby brings over two decades of experience from the construction sector to his new role as Managing Director.

He has a history of working with leading contractors in the UK, such as Kier and ISG, and has been involved in significant projects in both education and housing.

In his new capacity, Crosby is tasked with shaping the group’s vision and service offerings to meet the evolving needs of customers, as well as enhancing operational processes and risk management.

On Crosby’s appointment, CEO Warren Wright commented: “Jon has brought valuable tier one contractor experience to the Trail business which is helping to support our plans for sustainable growth and our ongoing commercial performance.”

James Haigh’s strategic integration role

James Haigh’s promotion to Group Strategy Director comes after his notable contributions as Business Change Manager since joining Trail in 2022.

With a robust background in project and programme management, including roles at Virgin Atlantic and a major London infrastructure provider, Haigh is well-equipped for his new role.

His responsibilities will include the strategic alignment of the company’s divisions and the management of internal functions such as IT and facilities management.

Wright also praised Haigh’s impact: “We are committed to continuous improvement at every level.

“James has already made a very positive impact on the business and he will now facilitate collaboration and strategic integration across all our divisions and following a number of acquisitions.”
